![]() ![]() ![]() This bogus alert is shown in such a way as to trick the user into thinking that they need to install an update, with the sole purpose of making them download the malicious program. Once this malicious program is installed, whenever you will browse the Internet, your web browser will be redirect to sites that display a “Please install the new Flash Player” message. Unfortunately, some free downloads do not adequately disclose that other software will also be installed and you may find that you have installed adware without your knowledge. These adware programs are bundled with other free software that you download off of the Internet. This “Please install the new Flash Player” pop-up ad is usually caused by adware installed on your computer. However if you click on the “Update Now” button, rather than downloading an update for Flash Player, you will be installing a malicious program on your PC. ![]() The “ Please install the new Flash Player (RECOMMENDED)” page is a social engineering attack that displays a fake alert stating that you need to update Adobe Flash Player. ![]()
